Henri van Doorn from Den Dungen

On a beautyfull location at the Poeldonksedijk in Den Dungen, under the smoke of  Den Bosch, lives Henri van Doorn with his wife Lucie and his two sons Chris and Laurens.

Henri was 8 years old when he began with pigeon, but he didn’t flew very hard with his pigeons. Till the moment that Henri went together with his wife Lucie to the house where they still live in. It was Lucie who stimulate Henri to begin with the racingpigeon sports, and they decide to do it good.

His neighbour Tien van Gestel (also a pigeonfancier) gave him 2 very important tips.
Henri van Doorn
Purchase good pigeons, and give them a excellent dovecote. These are two things he’d always remember. In the begin he flew hard with the pigeons he’d become from his neightbour, but Henri want to get on. Thats why he came in contact with Berry van der Brand from Boxtel. He helped him a lot, and at the moment the majority from his pigeoncolony consist of the pigeons from Berry. These pigeons are mainly of Schaerlaeckens strain combined with pigeons of Cees Gijzen from Willibrord. Henri’s getting yearly 10 to 15 young pigeons from Berry, and there is a good friendship originate from. From the year 2000 there are three pigeons he’d become direcly from Ad Schaerlaeckens who made exellent results. Also came a black pigeon from the ‘Gwen’ of Peter van der Merwe. In the first year he’d become nothing with some value from this pigeon, but united with an other pigeon that was bang on a target.
